I'm not generally a fan of cheap Chinese stuff - it's really not good value. The 'parallel' imports on the other hand are essentially the same as you would otherwise buy at a major supermarket, and these can be substantially cheaper. Think of a $10 tube of toothpaste from a major supermarket, for $2. That's the potential saving.
Sometimes pays to check here 1st before paying way more for the same product elsewhere, good general home ware stuff too.
