Really enjoyed seeing all the different animals. The Chimpanzees are a must see... And the big croc. Was awesome!

We loved it. The gardens and zoo are free, so we were happy to spend money on other things like food and souvenirs. Great place! This is our second time coming to this place on our trips around Australia. Can only recommend it! Don't miss it!

Had a great time and all for free. The Zoo keeper's were friendly and knowledgeable. Good on you Rockhampton Council.

It's a great place for young and old to explore. Refreshments are available at the kiosk, which is surrounded by huge Banyan trees. Watch out for the cheeky rainbow lorikeets though, as they might steal your food. Kids love the zoo, especially baby chimpanzee, Capri.

Wonderful place to relax and roam around. Tropical garden is top class. It's inspiring to see how a tropical garden thriving here. Birds, birds, birds.. Natural beauty. Has a small play area for kids and a covered barbecue area next to it. If you love nature it's a must visit place. There is also a well kept zoo which is free to visit, yes it's true, it's free. Don't forget to carry gold or silver coins for donation (donation box next to kangaroo area), as I couldn't go without appreciating the effort. If you carry some duck food, you or your little ones can enjoy feeding all sorts of birds near the lagoon towards the car park (parental advice - some are real naughty ones so keep an eye on your little once as they flock in, they don't attack but won't mind following you till you feed them) and please don't feed bread, it's harmful for birds. There is tea and snack area where you can enjoy feeding a bunch of colourful birdies.Great place to walk if your are health conscious. Enjoy
