I was willing to overlook the poor range of literature at this library as I am able to curate my own tastes.What I cant overlook is the rude frump of sourness on the front desk who could barely conceal her contempt when I told her I had accidentally sent my mobile phone through the conveyor with book returns for my children, Well thats pretty stupid isnt it, she took brief delight in saying.Now I am quite a self-deprecating fellow and I responded, saying Yeah, youd have to concede it is wouldnt you.She then abrades in in schoolmamish tones for not feeding the books in one at a time. Now, I understand I made her rise from her comfy chair, so that my transgression was twofold. What happened to librarians with an understanding of the humanities and a love of great books?I am a wicked man. Sometimes my liver hurts.Look it up.

Love the library - super nice staff, great service. HOWEVER, would be really, REALLY helpful if they posted their opening hours over this week (New Years). I have just rung the main library twice, and phone rang out both times - 1.15pm). I have borrowed material from the library, and leaving town sooner than expected. Am hoping the library is open on Wednesday, so I can return all items before I leave. I house/pet sit, and was meant to be in town longer, but friends changed their plans, and are heading back on the 3rd. I am now leaving very early on the morning of the 3rd January, to house/pet sit in Brisbane... Too far to travel back if the library isn't open on Wednesday. Will ship via Australia Post if that's the case, but hope not!!
It's a very nice modern library. The selection of books is very good. Quiet. WiFi works alright. They even have a coffee shop inside.
Its a great place! We are travelling along the eats coast and its was so helpful to have one day free wifi to plane our upcoming trip. Very friendly stuff, clean toilets, super great atmosphere. Really like this place!
